What is a truffle ceremony, and what can you expect?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

More and more women sense that their process is asking them to touch a deeper layer. Sometimes you have already talked, read and tried a great deal, yet you still notice that something within you is asking for a deeper form of inner work. Something that does not only want to be understood, but above all to be felt. A truffle ceremony can offer valuable depth in that process.

What is a truffle ceremony?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A truffle ceremony is a guided inner journey with truffles containing psilocybin. This is a consciousness-expanding substance that can cause you to perceive, feel and experience the world differently. Your senses often become sharper, music touches you more deeply and your attention shifts more towards your inner world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This can allow a different perspective to emerge on what is alive within you\u2014not through analysis or explanation, but through feeling. Through connecting with emotions, insights, memories or layers within yourself that are often more difficult to reach in daily life.

For many women, this is exactly why they feel drawn to a truffle ceremony. They do not want to understand even more with their minds, but to listen more deeply to their body, intuition and inner truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which substances are used in ceremonies?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Different substances are used in ceremonial work. You may have heard of cacao, Chocobliss, ayahuasca or truffles. They are sometimes mentioned in the same breath, but it is important to know that they are not the same and do not have the same effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cacao<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Cacao is often included in the same list, but it is not a psychedelic substance. Its effect is gentler and more heart-opening. It can help you feel more connected with yourself, soften and settle further into your body. But cacao does not take you on a psychedelic journey in the way truffles do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chocobliss<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Chocobliss is usually a combination of cacao and other herbs or substances, sometimes also with a small amount of truffle or caapi. The precise composition differs between providers, so its effects also vary. It is often experienced as milder and subtler than a full truffle ceremony, but it is important to realise that it is not the same as pure cacao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayahuasca<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ayahuasca is a powerful plant medicine that traditionally comes from the Amazon region. It has a different composition and often a different intensity from truffles. In the Netherlands, ayahuasca is a more legally complex subject and is not freely and legally available in the way truffles are. Many women do not know about this distinction, although it is important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truffles<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Truffles contain psilocybin and can help you step out of your usual pattern of thinking, controlling and carrying on. They often open a deeper layer of feeling and inner perception. Psychedelic truffles are legal in the Netherlands. That is precisely why many women choose a truffle ceremony when they long for a safe, legal and guided experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do truffles do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It is difficult to capture exactly what truffles do in a single sentence. Every woman experiences them differently, and every ceremony is different too. Still, I often hear women say that they feel more deeply during a truffle journey, as though the layer of control softens and creates more space for what is truly alive within them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emotions that remain more in the background in daily life can become more clearly perceptible. You can also gain insights into patterns in which you would normally remain stuck. This is connected in part with psilocybin’s influence on how different regions of the brain communicate with one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sensory perception often changes too. Time may feel different. And one of the most extraordinary things women often report is how deeply music can touch them, as though it is not only heard but moves through the whole body and opens something that is difficult to put into words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, a truffle ceremony is therefore not about \u2018just having a trip\u2019. It is much more about a profound inner process. About daring to feel what within you wants to be seen. About making space for what you may have been carrying for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do women choose a truffle ceremony?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Women who feel drawn to a truffle ceremony are often not looking for something spectacular. Usually, they are looking for depth: a deeper connection with themselves, more gentleness and compassion, or clarity around a particular theme in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That theme may concern relationships, work, health or an aspect of the past that wants to be better understood\u2014not only with the mind, but in a way that makes space for the body and heart too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes it concerns physical symptoms and the intuitive feeling that your body is trying to tell you something. A truffle ceremony can be helpful then\u2014not as a replacement for medical or therapeutic guidance, but as a deeper layer. A layer in which you look not only at the symptom itself, but also at what lies beneath it: what wants to be felt, softened or released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happens during a truffle ceremony?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A truffle ceremony is not only the moment when you take the truffles. The supportive setting around it is at least as important. The day usually begins quietly, with space to arrive. We often begin by considering your intention. What is ready to be seen? What do you long for? What would you like to open, understand or release?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is often attention for the body afterwards\u2014for example, through meditation, breathing or a gentle yoga exercise to help you move out of your head and settle more deeply into yourself. For women in particular, that is no unnecessary luxury. We are so accustomed to always being switched on and carrying so much. That is precisely why it is so valuable first to reconnect with your body and bring more calm into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you have taken the truffles, it takes a while for their effects to begin. You can then lie down on a comfortable bed, often with your eyes closed and with music to support your inward journey. This is usually also when the outside world recedes further into the background and your inner world begins to open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What might you experience during a truffle journey?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It is never possible to predict exactly how a truffle journey will unfold. Perhaps that is precisely the invitation: you do not have to know beforehand how it will go, but may practise trust and surrender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some women experience a great deal of peace and gentleness. Others move through deeper emotions. Memories, physical sensations, images or insights may arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever happens, it is helpful to have a facilitator present who holds the space and supports you when necessary. Someone who does not try to direct your process, but does provide a safe container, so that you can feel safe enough to surrender to whatever presents itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How long does a truffle ceremony last?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A truffle ceremony generally takes a full day. The journey itself often lasts around four to five hours, but preparation and the gentle return afterwards are part of it too. In total, it often takes around eight to nine hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterwards, there is time to return, eat something, notice how you are feeling and reflect on what you have experienced. I consider that gradual wind-down important because your system needs time to process everything.

What many women only discover later is that a truffle ceremony does not end when the day ends. The journey often continues to have an effect for days or weeks. That is precisely why integration is so important. The insights you receive want not only to be understood, but also to be lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A truffle ceremony is not for everyone, nor is every moment the right one. But if you feel ready for greater depth, sense that your body has something to tell you or long for a deeper connection with yourself, it can be a very valuable experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
